Nassau Stakes Betting
The Group 1 Nassau Stakes is for 3 year old and above thoroughbred fillies and mares. It is run over a distance of nearly 1 mile and 2 furlongs.
It was first contested in 1840 but was restricted to three year old fillies from then until 1975. The race is named from the friendship that formed between the Duke of Richmond and the House of Orange in Nassau. It was promoted to Group 1 status in 1999 after being run as a Group 2.
